Hispango is an inter-cultural platform of interaction underway in our area to be featured on Glenwood Arts, enabled via an open-learning model of partnership. Gringo and Latino come together, weave a new dance, ignorant to socio-economic boundaries, crossing cultural constraints. Let's see what happens in the new documentary series in production. |
The Cast:
Dennis Cleasby is a Long Island-based American artist, musician, photographer, author and up-and-coming filmmaker. In a new Hispango series, Dennis points his lens locally in interview format to capture stories of Latinos' voyages from homeland to Suburbia USA.
Dennis has a Master of Fine Arts and Master of Science in Educational Technologies from LIU Post. He travels the globe every year learning about new cultures, seeking creative inspiration. Dennis has been a featured guest artist-performer in concerts, radio, television and has produced several albums on which he sings original songs and features his cover art. His gallery exhibitions have earned recognition as unique combination of musical performance and visual art. He has served as a panelist on the Long Island Art Council and received several certificates of achievement for his contributions as a founding member at Long Island’s Our Times Coffeehouse where he served as Artistic Director for many years. He is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers. |
Barbara Costello is the Founder of Guardian Angel Family and new member of the Hispango cast. Guardian Angel Family Crisis Center in Sea Cliff, Long Island helps the immediate needs of many Latina women who have been disenfranchised. GAFCC serves as a safety net and seeks to counsel, console encourage and assist . GAFCC runs a resale boutique, food pantry and a transitional home, also offering ESL classes,a vocational educational ed. program and financial help to women in the community. GAFCC outreach has extended into the Latino community and serves families through are ongoing programs. |
